Where do you guys stand on reopening and going back to work? This from the Indianapolis Star: "Holcomb, who has repeatedly said his decision is driven by data, has not provided any statistics regarding the reopening's potential impact on new cases or deaths. But one widely cited model predicts that more than six times as many Hoosiers may die as the state reopens. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington is now projecting 6,247 coronavirus deaths in Indiana by Aug. 4 — a dramatic increase over the 971 deaths projected on April 22, prior to Holcomb's plans to reopen the state." The information is so conflicting and I just have no trust in any of these institutions right now, to be honest. I do not doubt the reality or the validity of this virus but I have not seen it first-hand therefore it's hard to wrap my head around the threat it poses. I have no interest in choosing not to work just to sit around and collect unemployment. I want to go back to work and I'm ready to go back to work. I love my job and I want them to be successful and I want to be a part of that success, and I also don't want to be jobless in the middle of a global pandemic with no income coming in. However I don't want to enter a situation where where we're on lockdown for longer with more strict rules than before because we opened too early. I don't want to be in a position three weeks from now where people that I know are sick or people's family members are getting sick and and people are just dying everywhere and I just don't want to deal with that. I don't want to participate in that. I also don't want to participate in weakening our country's economy or standing in the world Geopolitically considering everything that's going on with China. According to the source and the day I personally don't have anything to worry about as a young healthy active male, however my family members are considered at risk. Not to mention I'll be working with the public which is a double-edged sword I can be asymptomatic and be passing it to them, they could be passing it to me. I don't know a single person that's gotten sick to be honest, but I only know of about 2 that's gotten tested. If testing was widely available I would have very little hesitation. We have not met the CDC guidelines for reopening, we haven't even met the recommendations from the White House's guidelines for reopening and they have yet to properly answer the question of why he's allowing states to open under those circumstances. The Trump Administration denied the CDC recommendations for reopening, and he is admittedly more concerned about the economy than he is about the health and safety of the public. This isn't a political issue to me and I'm not 100% on either side of the aisle as far as reopening or not reopening goes. I am however trying to think long-term here and I'm trying to make an educated decision based on the health and safety of myself, my family, and the people that I come in contact with.
