The entire media industry, myself, 80% of the world's population, like everyone is guilty of 'crying wolf' or being overly hyperbolic in hindsight (although in most instances justifiable in the moment just out done later) to Trump's behavior over the last four to five years (or in his entire lifetime let's be honest) we're all numb to it because every day of the last four years the country has supposedly been on fire, but that's kind of the point. I really do need everyone to understand how serious, and dangerous, and abnormal, and threatening, and un-American that is - even if it is (in theory) only to distract from the GDP. We have never moved, suspended, or delayed the election through world wars, through previous pandemics, through anything and everything that this country has went through. Not to mention that is the final box to be checked on the "authoritarian dictatorship" checklist. No president in history has even suggested it, much less a losing incumbent running for a second term. They would have been burned at the stake for doing so, in fact Obama was do to just be speculation of his critic that he might. I feel like I've been saying this for months and it's almost like I'm not even getting the relief or release of the climax of it, but again that's only because it keeps being outdone. things are just going to get very bizarre these next couple of months.
