Thankfully I had time between classes to catch the news conference regarding the Martins Shooting. I know a lot of people want to know as much as possible, so here you go: - Suspects name is Shawn Walter Bair. - He used a semi-automatic 40 caliber hand gun. Estimated 7-10 shots fired by suspect. - The victims names are not being released at this time due to problems notifying the families. - Suspect entered Martins at 9:30pm and was walking around the store texting and talking on his phone before shooting "may have been hesitant." Police have not had time to analyze texts or calls. - The shooting began at 10:05pm. - The twenty year old female employee was the first to get shot, he then walked a few aisles down and shot the older female victim "multiple times." - Between 10:08pm and 10:10pm he was confronted with the manger of the store, he forced him on his knees and began "waving the gun around, taunting him" this was happening when police arrived and engaged in gunfire. - Police are saying that the suspect did not fire shots at police. - It was first thought and released by police that there was an undetermined motive and no connection between suspect and victims, but "Information from other areas of the state" imply that he had a connection with the twenty year old employee, they are investigating this lead. - Suspect lived with parents, Police did go to his home last night and notified parents but "can't comment on what was found in the house." They also would not comment on if/what are any known mental conditions. - Exactly three years ago yesterday the suspect was charged with Theft at a separate Martins location. Police are investigating this as a possible motive. - Police Sgt: "He went into the store with a mission." - Suspects Facebook profile included "angry posts" and pictures of "famous serial killers." - Police Sgt: "I cannot say he wasn't flagged for this type of behavior." - Martins security guard was not armed.
