It's claimed that a contractor operating one of the tracking stations obtained the video by filming the screens of two CCTV monitors. After smuggling out the video, it is said that a copy was given to an Air Force employee who subsequently sold the video to Paramount Studios. Brief excerpts of the video appeared in 1995 on the television programs "Hard Copy" and "Sightings." In 1995, an in-depth analysis of the footage was performed by Martin J. Powell (link below). Powell's analysis suggests the footage was filmed at differing times on the same day, by two seperate radar tracking stations. The object did not have a squawking transponder signal to alert air traffic control nor was their any communication with the tower, posing a dangerous situation with inbound and outbound air traffic. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection aircraft happened to be nearby and was able to capture on infrared video. An official source shared an original copy of the thermal video with members of the Scientific Coalition for Ufology (SCU). In 2015, SCU produced an in-depth empirical report on the video. It is the only official footage captured by a US navy F/A-18 Super Hornet present at the 2004 Nimitz incident off the coast of San Diego. Like Gimbal, this footage comes with crucial chain-of-custody (CoC) documentation because it is a product of US military sensors, which confirms it is original, unaltered, and not computer generated or artificially fabricated. This footage was captured by a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet using the Raytheon ATFLIR Pod that was being operated by a highly trained aerial observer and weapons system operator whom the government has spent millions of dollars to train.
